About

Where I’m From

–Ashleigh A. Coyner

I am from bare feet on a sunny day

to cartwheels in the front yard.

I am from fried catfish and hushpuppies.

I am from crawfishin’ in the bayou

to boiled shrimp on the picnic table.

I am from hurricanes and Bourbon Street.

I’m from chicory coffee and a good pecan pie.

I am from bonjour to mon cher,

from fais do-do to mardi gras.

I am from sweet potatoes and iced sweet-tea,

from Atchafalaya to Pontchartrain.

I am Louisiana homegrown.

Hi Ashleigh, I’m KC O’Donnell and I received your beautiful night view of Hood River in Kat’s postcard swap. I live in Corvallis and your postcard is the fifth and the “closest” I’ve received. I’ve so enjoyed this swap! With your permission, I would love to include a photo of your postcard on my blog (kcscamera.blogspot.com).

I was just checking out your blog after seeing your comment on mine and I quite like it, so I’m adding a link to it. 🙂
